PROBLEMS WE SOLVE · SHORT SHOTS

Your part doesn’t fill. Find out if it’s the part, the tool or the machine.

The last corners or thin ribs stay incomplete. Raising temperature and speed may help for a shift, then the problem comes back with the next material lot. Before you change the tool, you need to know what really limits the fill.

Typical causes

  • Injection pressure limit: the part needs more pressure than the machine can deliver. If the part needs 300 MPa and the machine gives 100 MPa, no setting will fix it.

  • Long or thin flow paths: the melt freezes before it reaches the end of fill.

  • Gate position or size: flow lengths are unbalanced, or the gate restricts the flow.

  • Trapped air: poor venting stops the melt at the last-to-fill areas, often with burn marks.

  • Material and temperature: a material with low flowability, or melt and mold temperatures that are too low.

How we find it

We simulate the filling with your material and check the required injection pressure against what your machine can really deliver. You see where the flow front stops, where air gets trapped and how much pressure margin you have. Then we show what fixes it: gate, wall thickness, venting, process settings or a different machine.

BEFORE STEEL IS CUT

Confirm the part fills on the planned machine, with margin.
